gleaning coordinator

Full time AmeriCorps member

Our Gleaning Coordinator will organize and lead gleaning efforts for our Community Orchard and Harvest Share programs.  These programs work with landowners and volunteers to harvest or collect produce donations that we then distribute to local food access sites. This position includes opportunities to directly address poverty and hunger in our communities. The Gleaning Coordinator will create and carry out a flexible gleaning schedule for the season. S/he will also work closely with food pantry managers and patrons, community partners, and staff to coordinate and conduct gleanings, distribution, and data collection. 


Volunteer + Events Coordinator

Part-time americorps member

Our Volunteer + Events Coordinator will develop meaningful relationships with volunteers and play an important role in our Shop the Market program. Through our Shop the Market program we facilitate the use of EBT/SNAP benefits at local farmers markets. The Volunteer + Events Coordinator will work to mobilize and engage volunteers in meeting Backyard Harvest's needs as well as providing much needed support for community events and tabling opportunities.
